Now that our soft toys are finished, we needed to decide who to send them to. We were given articles or adverts about a children's charity and had to think about how suited each one was to our cause.
Then we all discussed them together and voted. Using the online version of the app Popplet, we recorded information about each one to help us. We coloured each box with trafficlight colours to show our final decision (red = unsuitable, orange = possibility, green = yes).
Because of our time limit we decided that the Salvation Army was the most suited. Now all we have to do is finish our labels and wrap them up!

We are making soft toys for Technology and learning about soft textiles. When we finish we will give them to children in need for Christmas. Here's the first finished toy!
Check back in to see more and find out which organisation we will give them to.

Room11 has just started learning about algebra for our maths. We had four stations with a pattern at each station. We had to draw the pattern first and then we have to repeat it and write why it makes it a pattern. After that the fun part was that we get to make our own pattern and do the same thing. We had lots of fun with it.

The senior school invited parents and whanau to share our learning this term. In our class we shared the work we have done with e-tools in our unit about flowers, bees and pollination like Pic Collage, Google docs, QR codes and Popplet. Much of this was done through drama called Mantle Of The Expert (MOTE).

In maths we have been learning about how to give directions, read maps
and use a compass. First we had to learn the right language, so we
tried to get a partner through the maze our teacher made on the
classroom floor when they had their eyes closed!

Hi to all of our quadblogging schools! We are really excited about the next four weeks and can't wait to visit your blogs.
We are one week away from our production, but we will try our hardest to pop in daily to see what you have commented.
We've added a new post (below) about our visit to the gold mines in Waihi. We hope you enjoy watching them.
This year we visited the Gold Mines at Waihi in the Bay of Plenty. We wanted to know how different gold mining is today compared to the olden days.
To show our learning we created a mini documentary using the Puppet Pals HD app on the class iPads. One of us was the interviewer, one a person mining in the past and one mining in the present. We had to research all about it, some things were hard to find out, but we enjoyed creating a presentation to show everyone what we have learnt.
Click on each of the groups below to view our interviews.
